eBay charges a single final-value fee on the total amount the buyer pays (item price + shipping). For most categories that's about 13.6%, plus a $0.30 per-order fee ($0.40 above $10). The rate varies by category (e.g. Musical Instruments ~6.35%, Electronics ~9.35% with a Store, Books/Music ~15.3%), drops to 2.35% on the portion above the high-value cap, and falls further with an eBay Store subscription. Because the fee is on the total including shipping, free shipping still gets fee'd.
