Walmart WFS Claims & Reimbursement Calculator
Lost or damaged WFS inventory is real money sitting on the table. This calculator turns your unit value, quantity and fee refunds into the exact claim amount.
How much can you claim when WFS loses or damages inventory?
WFS reimburses lost, damaged-in-transit and mis-scanned inventory, but sellers must file a claim with the right numbers. The reimbursement is the unit's sales value or your cost depending on the claim type, minus any fee refund you get back. This calculator works out the claim amount for lost units, damaged units and overcharged storage/fulfillment lines — and what the fee refund should be.

How WFS claims & reimbursement works
Lost and damaged WFS inventory is money already spent, and the reimbursement basis depends entirely on which claim type you file.
The numbers it works with
Lost units are reimbursed at the item's average sale price (or your cost basis if it was never listed), and the WFS fulfillment fee may be refunded as well. Damaged-before-stow units reimburse at cost, with no fulfillment fee refund. Overcharged storage or fulfillment lines are corrected against your statements rather than paid out as claims. Walmart's published target is for Seller Support to resolve a claim within 10 calendar days; the window to open an inbound discrepancy case is 10–50 days after receipt, so missing that window closes the door.
The formula
Claim amount = unit value (sales or cost, per claim type) × quantity + WFS fulfillment fee refund + any storage refund. The calculator shows both the lost-inventory figure (with fee refund) and the damaged figure (cost only) so the difference is visible before you file.
Where the numbers come from
The reimbursement bases, the 10-calendar-day target and the 10–50 day investigation window come from Walmart's WFS Routing Guide (2026-03) and Marketplace Learn help pages. Whether a fulfillment fee refund is actually granted on lost units is confirmed per case in Seller Center, so the tool keeps that line editable.
Every Walmart cost in one place
15% referral hides tiered rates; WFS hides dimensional weight and storage; claims hide lost money. Each calculator surfaces one Walmart cost before it eats your margin.

WFS reimbursement policy (2026): lost inventory is reimbursed at the item's average sale price (or your cost basis if never listed), with any WFS fulfillment fee refunded if Walmart grants it. Damaged-before-stow claims cover units damaged before being received — reimbursement at cost, no fulfillment fee. Overcharged storage/fulfillment lines are corrected from your statements. Per Walmart's published guide, Seller Support aims to resolve investigation cases within 10 calendar days of submission, and investigations can be opened between 10 and 50 days after delivery to a fulfillment center (tracking-confirmed). For inbound shortages, file via Seller Center > Shipping plans > View plan > Track items > Investigate shipment; other cases go through Seller Center > Help > Contact support. Approved reimbursements land in the next payment cycle. Figures are editable — confirm the policy in your Seller Center before filing.
Walmart WFS Claims & Reimbursement Calculator — FAQ
How long does WFS take to review a claim?
Per Walmart's published WFS routing guide, Seller Support aims to resolve investigation cases within 10 calendar days of submission. Note the window to open an investigation at all: 10 to 50 days after the shipment is delivered to a fulfillment center (tracking-confirmed).
Does WFS refund the fulfillment fee on lost units?
Walmart's published policy reimburses lost inventory at the item's average sale price and does not explicitly promise to refund the WFS fulfillment fee — confirm what your Seller Center case grants before assuming the fee comes back. Damaged-before-stow cases do not refund the fulfillment fee.
What is the reimbursement basis for lost WFS inventory?
Lost units are reimbursed at the item's average sale price if it was listed, or your cost basis if it was never listed. Damaged-before-stow units reimburse at cost. Reimbursements are issued as credits in the next payment cycle.

Yes — reference the incorrect line on your statement and request a credit. This calculator lets you model the overcharge plus any multi-month storage refund as one claim.
