Walmart Marketplace & WFS Fee Calculator
Walmart looks cheap until you add WFS. This calculator nets referral + WFS fulfillment + storage + returns against your price and COGS, and shows whether WFS or self-fulfillment keeps more per unit.
What does Walmart Marketplace really cost per unit?
Walmart charges a referral fee (a % of the total sale price, tiered by contract category — most categories 15%, Consumer Electronics 8%, PCs 6%, Jewelry 20% up to $250) and, if you use WFS, a per-unit fulfillment fee based on shipping weight (max of actual and dimensional weight, rounded up) plus monthly storage per cubic foot. There is no monthly subscription fee. This calculator nets referral + WFS fulfillment + storage + returns against your COGS and ad spend to show true per-unit profit, and compares it with self-fulfillment.

How the Walmart fee calculator works
Walmart's fee structure reads like a single referral percentage until WFS fulfillment, storage and returns stack on top of it. This tool nets all of them per unit.
The numbers it works with
The referral fee is a straight percentage of retail price, tiered by contract category: 15% on most categories, 8% on consumer electronics, 6% on personal computers, 20%/5% on jewelry above/below $250, and apparel at 5%/10%/15% by price. WFS fulfillment is charged per unit on the shipping weight, which is the greater of actual weight and the dimensional weight (L×W×H ÷ 139, plus 0.25 lb packaging, rounded up). Storage runs $0.75/cu ft/month, with a $1.50 add-on in peak (Oct–Dec) once stock sits past 30 days, and $7.50/cu ft/month after 365 days.
The formula
Net per unit = retail price − referral − WFS fulfillment (on dimensional weight) − storage (volume × month-rate × months) − returns (retail × return rate) − ad spend − COGS. The same unit reruns as seller-fulfilled with your own shipping cost and no storage, so the two sides are directly comparable.
Where the numbers come from
Referral tiers and the $3.45+ fulfillment ladder come from Walmart's published referral fee schedule and WFS pricing page. The surcharges modeled here — +$0.50 for apparel/hazmat, +$1.00 on items under $10 retail, +$3/+$25 for oversize — are on the official WFS rate card. The New-Seller Savings checkbox applies the 2026 program: 50% off referral on WFS orders, 25% off seller-fulfilled, plus 25% off fulfillment and 50% off storage, valid through 2027-01-31.
Every Walmart cost in one place
15% referral hides tiered rates; WFS hides dimensional weight and storage; claims hide lost money. Each calculator surfaces one Walmart cost before it eats your margin.

Walmart Marketplace & WFS Fee Calculator — FAQ
Does Walmart charge a monthly fee to sell?
No. Walmart Marketplace has no required monthly subscription (unlike Amazon's $39.99 Professional plan). You pay only the referral fee on each sale, plus WFS fees if you use Walmart Fulfillment Services.
What is the referral fee on Walmart?
It is a percentage of the total sale price (including shipping), tiered by contract category. Most categories are 15%; Consumer Electronics 8%, PCs 6%, Jewelry 20% up to $250 then 5%, Electronics Accessories 15% up to $100 then 8%, Apparel 5/10/15% by price. A $1.80 minimum applies to some categories.
How much does WFS cost per unit?
WFS fulfillment starts at $3.45 (≤1 lb) and scales with shipping weight — the greater of actual and dimensional weight (L×W×H/139), +0.25 lb packaging, rounded up. Storage is $0.75/cu ft/month off-peak, higher in Oct–Dec and for long-term inventory.
Is WFS or self-fulfillment cheaper?
It depends on your freight cost and the 2-day badge's conversion lift. The calculator compares both per unit and per month. As a rule, WFS wins when your own shipping exceeds the WFS fee; self-fulfillment wins on bulky, slow-moving SKUs where storage and dimensional weight add up.
Does this calculator update automatically?
No — the reference rates are editable fields you should refresh against Walmart's current WFS pricing page and your Seller Center statements. The calculator is intentionally transparent so you can see and change every assumption.
