Newegg Fee & Profit Calculator

Newegg's commission is one column of a bigger fee stack. This calculator nets the category commission, order fee, Elite plan, campaign discount and fulfillment into your true per-unit profit — and finds the break-even price.

Net per unit & break-even

⚠️ Newegg's Commission Reference lists Standard/Special/Rebate columns, but the company publishes no definition of Special or Rebate anywhere public — so this tool uses the official single-column commission as an editable default and does not stack Special/Rebate. Campaign discounts and new-seller rebates are modeled from official programs. Always reconcile against your settlement report. Not legal or financial advice.

What do you actually keep on a Newegg sale?

Newegg's commission looks simple until you add the extras: a category commission (8-12% for US sellers), a $0.29 order processing fee on every order, possibly an Elite plan subscription, a fulfillment cost (SBN or 3PL or self-ship), plus ads, returns and vouchers. On top of that, Newegg's commission reference shows three columns — Standard, Special and Rebate — but the company never defines the second two publicly, so the only reliable number is the settlement you actually get. This calculator prices the margin with the official single-column commission as an editable default, lets you apply the officially published campaign commission discount (2.5% or 3.5%), and adds the fixed fees — then shows your per-unit net, margin, monthly net and break-even price.

How the margin calculator works

Newegg's fee stack has more layers than the commission table suggests. This tool turns the official rates plus your own costs into a per-unit truth.

The numbers it works with

The category commission (8/10/12% US), the $0.29 order processing fee, your Elite plan cost spread across orders, your fulfillment cost per unit (SBN / 3PL / self-ship), ads, returns and any other fees. The campaign discount (2.5%/3.5%) and the 90-day new-seller 6% rebate are official programs that override the standard commission.

The formula

Net per unit = sale price − landed cost − effective commission − order fee − fulfillment − ads − returns − other fees − Elite spread. Break-even price = fixed costs ÷ (1 − percentage fees).

Where the numbers come from

Commission and fee defaults are the official 2026 published rates. Special/Rebate are deliberately not stacked — Newegg publishes the figures but no definitions, so the settlement report is the only source of truth.

The commission table hides two columns nobody explains

Newegg's Commission Reference shows Standard / Special / Rebate. The company defines none of it publicly — the Chinese referral-fee page even shows only the single merged column. Don't build a formula on columns you can't read; price on the official single rate and adjust to your statement.

Campaigns and the 90-day rebate move the effective rate

A campaign SKU can pay 2.5-3.5% instead of 8-12%, and new sellers pay an effective 6% for 90 days. Both are official — toggle them to see how much they change the break-even price before you commit to a campaign or a launch timing.

Fixed fees scale with nothing

The $0.29 order fee and Elite subscription are per-order and per-month, not per-dollar. At thin margins they decide profitability more than the commission does — which is why the tool shows them as separate lines rather than folding them into a percentage.

Every Newegg fee & fulfillment number in one place

Newegg hides the full cost across commission, the $0.29 order fee, SBN fulfillment tiers and payout timing. Each calculator surfaces one Newegg number before it eats your margin.

Newegg commission & fees (official, checked 2026-08)

Commission (US sellers) — official “View Commission Rates” (sellerportal, updated 2026-04-23): Computer Hardware 10%; Consumer Electronics, Cell Phones, Camera & Photo, Appliance, Video Game Consoles 8%; all other categories 12%. The same table also lists a Special Fee (6%) and Rebate (2-6%), but Newegg publishes no definition of either anywhere public — the Chinese-language referral-fee page shows only a single merged referral-fee column. This calculator uses the official single-column rate as an editable default and does not stack Special or Rebate, because doing so would invent a formula the company doesn't document. Your settlement report is the only source of truth.

Newegg Fee & Profit Calculator — FAQ

What is Newegg's commission rate?

For US sellers: Consumer Electronics / Phones / Camera / Appliances / Consoles 8%, Computer Hardware 10%, all other categories 12%. The Commission Reference also lists a 6% Special Fee and 2-6% Rebate, but Newegg never defines those publicly — use your settlement report as the truth, and treat the single-column rate as your default.

How does the campaign discount work?

Newegg's official 'Commission Discount — Submitting to Campaigns' program (since 2024-01-01): SKUs approved into a campaign pay a flexible campaign rate — some campaigns are fixed at 2.5%, others higher (e.g. 3.5%). The tool lets you pick a campaign rate, which overrides the standard commission.

Are there other fees besides commission?

Yes: $0.29 order processing fee per order; Elite plans Professional $49.95/mo and Enterprise $99.95/mo (Non-Elite $0.99 per unique item sold per month); Unsold Listing Fee $0.005/SKU/month after 12 months unsold. Plus your own fulfillment, ads and return costs.

Is this an official Newegg tool?

No — it is SellHandy's planning calculator. Commission and fee defaults follow the official published rates (2026), but Special/Rebate are not modeled because Newegg doesn't define them publicly. Reconcile against your settlement.

Why don't you stack Special Fee and Rebate?

Because Newegg publishes the numbers (6% / 2-6%) but never the rules that trigger them — adding or subtracting them would be inventing a formula. The only reliable number is your actual settlement. If your statement shows a different effective rate, edit the commission % input to match.
